The
most common network cabling installed is Cat5e replacing Cat5.
The difference is the bandwidth which with Cat5e now 1Gb across
all pairs.
Cat6 cabling is similar to CAT5e but is commonly used where
1GB/s to 10GB/s data transfer speeds are
required. CAT6 cable achieves this speed
increase by shielding the inner twisted
cores and also has an outer shielding to
eliminate external interference.
For longer cable runs there is fibre optic cabling.
As light travels very fast, by sending
light down a small glass fibre very fast data
transfer speeds can be obtained. Because
copper has a maximum distance of
90m before the signal needs to be
amplified, fibre has the advantage with
the ability to go up to
distances of many kilometres and
is frequently used
to connect large sites.
Once your system has been installed and commissioned we also offer a
comprehensive service and maintenance package for your system.
It is important to maintain your system to ensure it continues to
function properly.
